WS/RESIDENZA
Il workshop-residenza Ritratto a mano – RAMO si svolge dal 2014 all’interno dell’ex Convento delle Clarisse di Caramanico Terme (PE), ogni anno con un artista-tutor diverso, chiamato a condurre le giornate di residenza. Al centro del progetto c’è il concetto di “ritratto” inteso in senso metaforico come traccia del sé all’interno del processo artistico e oggetto di riflessione nella ricerca individuale. Con una direzione volta ad indagare la genesi dell’opera d’arte come possibilità d’incontro,come esperienza nel senso pieno del termine, i partecipanti sono chiamati a sperimentare un percorso di costante dialogo tra vita reale e fare artistico, interagendo con l’ambiente circostante. L’ex Convento è incastonato tra i monti della Maiella e del Morrone e circondato dalle valli dei fiumi Orfento e Orte, all’interno del Parco Nazionale della Majella. Tale posizione, insieme alla struttura architettonica dell’edificio, favoriscono il ritmo lavorativo delle giornate di residenza sempre tese tra una dimensione intima e di ricerca individuale ed una più corale fatta di dialogo reciproco e di confronto con la natura. RAMO è rivolto a tutti gli artisti che vogliono esperire una residenza dove si ha la possibilità di dedicarsi alla radice esperienziale della ricerca artistica e alla sua tradizionale analisi materica. I partecipanti vengono selezionati in un numero di dodici tramite l’open-call che viene resa pubblica ogni anno. RAMO è stato fondato da Angelo Bucciacchio e Giuseppe Pietroniro ed è curato da Giuliana Benassi.

Since 2014, the workshop-residency Ritratto a mano – RAMO has taken place in the former Convent of the Poor Clares of Caramanico Terme (PE). Every year a different artist-tutor is asked to conduct the residency. At the heart of the project is the concept of “portrait”, metaphorically understood from within the artistic process as the outline of the self and the object of contemplation in individual research. The aim is to investigate the formation of a work of art, viewing it as a possibile encounter, an experience in the complete sense of the term. Participants are invited to embark on an experience of constant dialogue between real life and artistic doing, interacting with the surrounding environment. The former convent is in the Majella National Park, nestled between the Maiella and Morrone mountains and surrounded by the valleys of the rivers Orfento and Orte. Such location, combined with the structural architecture of the building, fosters the working rhythm of the days spent on residency, which are divided between an intimate and individual research and one that is more choral, made of mutual dialogue and the exchange with nature. RAMO is aimed at all artists who want to experience a residency where you have the opportunity to devote yourself to the experiential genesis of artistic research and its traditional material analysis. Twelve participants are selected through an open-call made public every year. RAMO was founded by Angelo Bucciacchio and Giuseppe Pietroniro and is curated by Giuliana Benassi.
